Lando, short for Orlando, is the caretaker of the property we are developing on Dimancal island. He brings in most of our supplies but has contacts for different sized boats and now helps us with boat tours as well. He is a tourist guide by trade and his English is very good.
A fisherman by trade, Alvin lives on Patoyo island and was our neighbour for our first project on that island. Since then he has painted and fixed up his boat and engine, as shown in the picture to the left. He often brings in crucial supplies to our camp.
He can do local tours in the Linapacan area for around 2,000p for five people max (depends on the waves), with lunch at his place (below).
He can also take two people with gear max to either Coron or Sibaltan, depending on the waves, for about 5-6000p total. This would be a one day trip and include a bit of island hopping, such as the lagoons around Coron.

His primary source of income by profession, Benji also runs a regular schedule to Coron on Fridays, 2 days, with a one day trip back leaving on Sundays.
Every operator has their own contacts or relatives who have islands you can explore or people to meet and stay at on different islands, making tours by each operator special. But what makes Benji’s tours extra special is his particular love for Emperador, a local brandy, with the contagiously jovial mood it brings with it once you settle down for the evening.
Keep in mind though that he manages several boats and crews, so it might be just the luck of the draw which boat he actually captains. But if you like to party, send him a special request and try to work out a deal!
